The Harris Campaign Strategy - Insights

Kamala Harris’ Original Views on many subjects are well known and documented.  They cannot be erased.  However, her campaign has taken a course to establish New Views that are different than the Original.

Will this work?

Major examples of Original Views cover:

• Easy (or no) bail and release of criminal suspects.

• Open borders for Immigration.  Elimination of ICE.

• Benefits for Illegal Immigrants.

• An aggressive Green Agenda that is high expense.

• Excessive Government Spending (with dramatic increases in Deficits and Inflation).

Since her appointment as Democratic Candidate, she has either softened or reversed her Original Views.

SO, what is the Plan?

Assumed Objective:

Make the Harris candidacy more appealing to Republicans not happy with Trump and Independents.

The Strategy to draw votes depends on how citizens perceive her New Views.  Will they be interpreted as Real or a Ruse until after the election when the Original Views could come back.

You can be sure to expect Republican advertising to focus on her Original Views during the remainder of the campaign. 

This will create cognitive dissonance for voters who don’t know what Harris Views to believe.

Risks

The New Views could cause traditional “Progressive” Democrats to lose enthusiasm.  Lowered expectations could mean lower voter turnout.

Kamala Harris has a Balancing Act like none that I can recall in politics.  It will be a fascinating election season to see how this ends in November.
