In the previous post in this Series on Money and Politics, Cogport listed the Top 10 Donors to each of the Political Parties. These were mostly financial investors and business owners.
This post lists the Top 10 Celebrity Donors by Parties.
Hollywood has favored the Democrat Party over the last 10 years. Not surprising, but worthy of note. That will show in the numbers below.
Celebrity Donations to the Democrat Part, based on public sources and fundraising records over the last 10 Years.:
Steven Spielberg and wife Kate Capshaw. Estimated over $10 Million.
George Clooney – Estimated $10 million raised or contributed. Clooney is known for hosting high-profile fundraisers, including a $15 million dinner for Barack Obama in 2012.
Barbra Streisand – Estimated $5-10 million. Streisand is a consistent donor to Democratic candidates and has been involved in numerous fundraising efforts.
Rosie O’Donnell – Estimated $5 million. O’Donnell has made significant contributions to Democratic candidates and progressive causes, especially during the Trump presidency.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z – Estimated $2-5 million. This includes donations and fundraising efforts for Democratic candidates like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, plus various social justice causes.
Leonardo DiCaprio – Estimated $2-3 million. DiCaprio has supported Democratic candidates and environmental causes, though much of his influence is through activism and foundations.
Oprah Winfrey – Estimated $2-3 million. Oprah has made significant contributions during key elections (e.g., Barack Obama in 2008) but is more influential through her endorsements.

That explains the Democratic affiliation with Hollywood.
Celebrity Donations to the Republican Part, based on public sources and fundraising records over the last 10 Years.:
Clint Eastwood - Estimated Donations: $1-2 million. Eastwood has long been a supporter of conservative causes and Republican candidates, including Mitt Romney in 2012 and Donald Trump in 2016. He famously delivered a speech at the 2012 Republican National Convention.
Kelsey Grammer - Estimated Donations: $1 million. The "Frasier" star is a well-known Republican supporter, contributing to various GOP candidates over the years and attending fundraisers for figures like John McCain and Mitt Romney.
Chuck Norris - Estimated Donations: $100,000-500,000. Norris is a strong supporter of conservative values and has donated to Republican candidates. He actively campaigned for Mike Huckabee in 2008 and supported Donald Trump.
Kid Rock (Robert Ritchie) - Estimated Donations: $500,000-1 million. Kid Rock is a vocal supporter of Donald Trump and has contributed to Republican causes. He even considered running for Senate as a Republican in Michigan.
Jerry Bruckheimer- - Estimated Donations: $500,000-1 million. The prolific film producer has been a significant Republican donor, contributing to GOP candidates and causes, including George W. Bush and John McCain.

Clearly the Democrats are preferred by about 10:1 in Major Celebrity Donations.
In the big picture, it makes no difference. But it is worth knowing how your favorite celebrities line up in politics.
