Global Foreign Policy - Part 3

Cogport previously posted 2 reports about the factors in Global Foreign Policy leading up to the action against Iran. Please read.
Since the last post on March 16, the actions in Iran by U.S. and Israel have continued with a major depletion of Iran’s military capacity.
The NATO countries still decline to help open the Strait of Hormuz which has created a large increase in the price of Oil. That is an event that will have significant impact on the future of NATO and the major military funding provided by the U.S. to protect Europe.
Cogport proposes that the U.S. make a significant withdrawal from NATO. If the countries of Western Europe will not help us, why should the U.S. pay for 62% of the NATO military cost for them? This is a legacy that time has passed.
If they cannot manage their own affairs to protect against Russian aggression, we should just get out of the way.
It would release a huge amount of U.S. taxpayer dollars available for better purposes – estimated over $500 Billion.
That would be a Wake-Up call for EU leaders to take responsibility for their own security.
Are we bold enough to break-up the crusty organization of NATO? It has outlived the original need and been neglected by the countries that benefited the most.
Who needs military “allies” who are not there to put down an evil regime like Iran who has spread terror over the world?
When the Iran situation is resolved, these questions will come to the front.
After that, we may turn towards new alliances on the American continents.
Cogport previously proposed an American Treaty Organization (ATO).
More on that in future reports.
